Following the smooth commissioning and handover of our new server room, I am pleased to fulfil my promise: ‘If everything goes well, you will receive a reference report.’

The entire project went smoothly in every respect. As the Hamburg Medical Association, we placed particular emphasis on energy efficiency and resource conservation. To this end, we set our own requirements for determining and presenting the PUE/EUE value, which we had not found realised on the market until then.

Your company took up our ideas and, with dedicated cooperation, fully implemented them in the Conect PS-E Datacenter Monitoring system. The efficiency values predicted by Conect in advance have been fully achieved. All in all, we are impressed by the overall concept of the IT Compact solution, even after commissioning, thanks to the good accessibility of important components and convincing cable management options, including in the PDU, patch and KVM areas.

The graphical user interface of the PS power supply solution is not only very helpful in terms of operation, but also impresses with its high-quality design. As it turned out, this is not just our impression, but system engineers from the active components sector repeatedly confirm its clarity and practicality, remarking with amazement: ‘We’ve never seen anything like this before – it’s great.’

All in all, it was a straightforward and well-rounded solution provided by an experienced team, which meant that we had significantly less project-related work to do compared to other projects.

My conclusion: ‘A very successful overall solution, for which we would like to express our sincere thanks once again.’

Dear Mr Spiering, dear Conect team,
When you approached me some time ago about a reference report on our server room project, I hesitated for a moment, as these kinds of reports often seem exaggerated. But considering how satisfied we are with the solution that was designed and implemented, I am happy to write to you and the team.

Some time ago, we were planning to expand our office space and, as a result, our server rooms.

When we started looking for suitable partners for the project, our research was initially very limited, but then we received a tip from our system house that led us to Conect.

During our initial contact, we enjoyed our discussions with Mr Spiering, and the flexibility and comprehensive documentation on individual topics and server room planning were very clear and transparent.

We were also pleasantly surprised when we received the first project outline with a concept description and CAD designs.

Given our challenging conditions, such as limited floor space, urban planning restrictions and heat input from solar radiation, the Conect solution was the only one that could truly meet all requirements, including predicted energy efficiency, which has now been measured retrospectively.

The system demonstration of all components at your exhibition in Rethwisch was also exciting for us. We were able to test and operate the complex technology of a server room project from A to Z, experience the UPS, simulate a power failure and witness the start-up of the emergency power generator (which was not relevant for us, but very interesting), as well as the entire operating and fault reporting chain. That finally convinced us.

This demonstration instilled confidence in complex technologies, such as those found in server rooms.

We were also impressed by the innovative IT-Compact server centre solution with its modular design and integration of all technical areas in 19″ format – we were only able to see the many ideas, approaches, individual customisation options and experience behind it in direct application and recognise its advantages.

The implementation, project process, commissioning and documentation were convincing and, for us as the client, simple and ‘turnkey’.

Once again, many thanks for this truly successful IT-Compact project solution.

To the Conect team,
Do you remember? The first ‘refresh’ of our server room took place in 2007. At that time, we needed to expand our IT infrastructure while also improving availability, monitoring and cooling technology. In addition, we needed to increase our energy supply in line with the increased IT provision and integrate a central UPS.

Since the space available could not be changed, we needed solutions and ideas that were different from what we had known up to that point. Ultimately, we received a solution developed and implemented by Conect with separate air ducts and a special cooling device arrangement. To this day, it reliably secures our IT operations.

During a server room check carried out by Conect, we became aware of new risks in IT availability. To compensate for increased risks in the public power supply, we also purchased an emergency power system last year, which was designed, planned and implemented by Conect.

We appreciate the Conect team’s competent, constructive and proactive approach, such as their suggestion to integrate fault reports from building services, for example from boilers, into PS-E Monitoring.

All in all, we are highly satisfied with Conect’s services and the impressive implementation of the projects and look forward to continuing our collaboration.

Dear Conect team,
We fondly remember our first contact with you back in 2008.

At that time, we had reached a point where our ‘grown’ IT structure could no longer meet our availability requirements. Difficulties with the power supply, which led to IT failures, further exacerbated the situation.

We then looked for a company that could help us change this situation, providing everything from concept development and planning to implementation from a single source. Conect ultimately developed the IT Compact System, a modular complete solution tailored to our spatial conditions for two IT locations – as a room-in-room solution for a listed building and a backup power supply via a diesel generator.

Energy-saving cooling technology was a must, and the PS-E monitoring system, which also offered the option of Nagios integration and several independent reporting channels, was exactly what we were looking for. The first major construction phase was completed quickly and professionally.

Shortly after the first server area went into operation, we immediately noticed a significant reduction in energy consumption of almost 40 per cent, as shown by the monitoring system. We were able to see this difference in a direct comparison with the operation of the second server room.

All systems worked smoothly and reliably from day one, just as promised. Power outages from the electricity supplier were compensated for by the UPS and NEA systems without any errors or failures in IT provision.

At the end of 2012, based on our positive experience, we once again commissioned Conect GmbH to implement the rest of the concept. Despite the conversion taking place during ongoing IT operations, the work proceeded as usual: quickly, well-coordinated and reliably. All deadlines were met, and there were no interruptions in cooling or other areas.

All in all, our conclusion is: It couldn’t be better, we are completely satisfied. And we look forward to further projects in the future.

Dear Conect Team, hello Mr Spiering,
On the occasion of the commissioning of our current server room, we would like to thank the ‘Conect Team’ for their expert advice, planning and implementation during the relocation of the old data centre to our new administration building.

This was not just a matter of implementing a space-saving IT compact server centre solution in our new administration building, but also of completely rebuilding and reconnecting the fibre optic and telecommunications connections in our factory area while IT operations continued to run.

We particularly liked the uncomplicated and pragmatic approach to project planning and the consistently reliable implementation. It is clear that this is a very experienced team at work. With well-thought-out solutions and creative approaches, Conect made the project implementation much easier.

But that’s how we know the team, whose server room solutions have now been implemented to our complete satisfaction for the third time since 2006.

We continue to particularly like the graphical interface of the PS power supply, which is easy to use even for ‘electrical novices’, as well as the finely scalable and easy-to-use PS-E monitoring system, which has grown with our requirements over the years.

The current certification of the IT Compact solution for excellent energy efficiency is extremely helpful proof of our current quality and environmental management, which we did not expect in this form.

But even in the past, good ideas have improved the energy efficiency of our IT energy balance – such as installing the recoolers from server room 2 in our high-bay warehouse for heating purposes or separating hot and cold air in our first server area.

We would also like to express our satisfaction with the excellent support we have received over the years in terms of maintenance and repairs.

With such good service, we look forward to many more years of successful cooperation.

Hello dear Conect team,
The project was truly outstanding, from planning to implementation to completion.

Many thanks to the employees of Conect and its affiliated companies for this great achievement.

As a global automotive supplier, it became necessary for us to meet the increased demands for reliable IT provision within the company and to adapt our existing structures accordingly.

To this end, we were looking for a supplier who could cover the entire field of modern IT infrastructures, from basic evaluation and concept development to final handover, and ultimately found this supplier in Conect through our system partner, Jans IT AG.

During the workshop to present the IT Compact approaches, it became clear that the special and coordinated features of the system, combined with environmentally friendly approaches, perfectly matched our requirements.

No other provider was able to offer us such a compact and well-thought-out server room concept in this performance class.

Important details such as fault-tolerant designs of the monitoring system or a consistent dual-path implementation of the energy technology with a truly user-friendly graphical user interface ultimately led to our decision in favour of the Conect IT Compact system.

This allowed us to integrate the server centre into our planned new production hall in a cost-effective manner and at the same time implement an effective back-up concept without having to implement a container solution as initially planned.

From the outset, we felt that we had found a partner in Conect with a sense of what was feasible and necessary, who helped us to ‘set the course’ in the right areas with their wealth of experience.

We were also impressed by the experienced, efficient and prudent project work of Conect’s on-site staff – everything went according to plan: deadlines, costs and a flawless handover.

It was an ideal project, just as we had hoped – thank you once again.
